would recommend windows 7 pro over home, you have more control over software and admin rights to policies and management that home premium.

just a thought

Well this build is running great after two or three weeks. I hope it continues to do so...I guess after two months I will trust the hardware to be solid. Because I use it also as DAW I had to add a "pro-quality" sound card:

this is what I chose.

It was a bit confusing to set up, but if you are an audiophile, I can say you will definitely hear the difference if you already don't have a pro card AND you have speakers that can reveal the detail. I already had a 192khz card, but this one is a huge difference. The clarity is remarkable. I won't say it rivals Warner Brothers, but I also don't know that it doesn't.

My new 'puter is strong and by comparison to my old (to my previous AMD socket 939 dual core)crazy fast. I use it mainly for Sonar 8 and Adobe CS5 Master Collection, and it is doing great. I mean, it is fast. Love. It.

Thanks for all of your input guys. Let's hope it keeps running.
