Amann, you didn't tell us what your average ping is. :cheer:

I am thinking about upgrading and am interested in rigs because my ping is always high (170-230)

I am wondering if it is more my distance from the server (New Mexico to Georgia) or my rig.

I have:

AMD Atholon 64 X2 Dual 6000+ 3.02Ghz
3.25 GB of Ram
NVIDIA Geforce 8600GT vid card

I run everything on low.

I do OK, usually in the top 3 scorers on my team but am no match one on one against someone with a ping around 70-90

I am thinking about building a rig with the new Bulldozer cpu coming out in the next month or two.

What do you guys think?

The ping i see for the server in the browser is about 38 to 41. when i am on the server my ping is between 100 to 110.

I also found this on an EA forum.

Reported issues noted by DICE.

- Ping in-game differs from real ping (usually 50-100ms difference): This is due to round-trip latency for an in game packet.

In the server browser the actual ping is reported. I get around 38-41 in the browser and ~100 -110 ingame.

Note a slower PC will increase what is reported in game. The slower your pc the more out of sync you are with the server.

1. How do I get my FPS to show on screen?

2. That's all, refer to 1.

3. Then I'll answer the rest of the questions :)
